Throughout life, we all face all sorts of challenges, be them big or small. However, psychological services are not only about problem-solving or healing. Psychological intervention also includes optimizing our potential and building a balanced and meaningful life.
The counseling process may involve (1) preventing or resolving emotional and behavioral issues, (2) facilitating personal development and self-discovery in order to optimize life quality, and (3) counseling regarding the client’s maximization of potential and improving interpersonal skills in various life domains (e.g., education, professional, etc.).
Individual Counseling
This process involves clarifying the client’s individual goals, developing the client’s skills and resources in relation to these goals, overcoming obstacles that stand in the way of set goals, and implementing strategies in order to live a more fulfilled and balanced life. Sessions last approximately 50 – 60 minutes and are conducted one-on-one (just the client and the psychologist).
Couples’ Counseling
This process offers an opportunity to (1) explore and overcome relationship barriers, (2) motivate the individuals within the couple to reach their maximum potential, and (3) create positive, lasting changes in the relationship and increase positive emotions and well-being in the couple. This type of counseling can strengthen the emotional connection and partnership within the couple. Sessions last approximately 50 – 60 minutes and are conducted between the couple and the psychologist.
